What is home?

What is home? Is it where you currently live, or is it where you feel the most safe and/or at peace? To me being at home is where you feel most comfortable. While my childhood home will always be very special to me, I believe that if you think of home as less of a physical place and more of an idea, you will find it much easier to decipher. For me, being at home is being surrounded by my loved ones. Having my girlfriend, family and friends around me helps me feel at peace. For without them around, I wouldn't be the same person I am. I believe that if you embrace this, being at home will be much easier for you than just a physical geographical location. When I am with my loved ones, nothing else really matters and everything flows easily. My friends and family are what I hold dearest to me, you may move out of that home, but those who are there for you will never fade. Sure, you may not always be able to be with one another, but that connection you all share together will always be there. That bond that you all have will continue to grow, and they will always be there for you when you need them the most.

My Education

I moved to Easton, PA at a very early age of two, from the time I started school at Palmer Elementary, they were teaching us the basics of reading and writing. But it wasn't until I was in high school, which I attended Easton Area High School, that we really started getting into writing papers. My freshman year we mostly read and discussed Shakespeare, due to the nature of his writing, we mostly spent the time annotating and deciphering his text. I had not started writing papers until my sophomore year and throughout my senior year. Mostly writing research papers, while we did quite a lot of them, the teachers would
just let you go and do your own thing. Rarely offering much guidance and ways to help you. Though they would make you submit a rough draft, they still did not critique and show me much to improve on, it was mostly just corrections on spelling and grammar. Rarely would we receive much help on what a good paper actually is. I often found myself having to figure things out on my own. I noticed myself struggling to understand much of the concepts of these papers and to this day I still have a hard time. Writing for the most part has been difficult for me due to the lack of guidance throughout high school. I hope to improve on this during the semester and hope that I can change my perception on the difficulty that I have during the writing process.

Meet Vanessa

Vanessa has been married for twenty four years and with her husband for a total of thirty three. It was love at first sight and from the moment they saw each other that they knew they were perfect for one another. Together, they have four children, three girls and one boy. She also has a total of eight grandchildren, five boys and three girls. To Vanessa, family is the most important thing, every Sunday she has her family get together for a family dinner. She uses this time to talk to everyone and learn and discus what is going on in their lives. One of her daughters lives in New York and she makes sure that she travels down and attends the dinners at least once a month. Vanessa currently works for a collection agency collecting taxes, medical bills, etc. and has been doing so for the past fifteen years. She is very good at what she does because she is very friendly and connects with each person that she contacts. Vanessa is currently attending NCC for a business degree and plans on being a contractor for businesses in teaching their employees the proper ways of customer service. She believes, and I agree with her, that having strong customer service helps the business thrive. It allows them to connect with the customers on a personal level, and that makes them feel comfortable. When you make the customers happy and comfortable, they enjoy shopping with your company, so they continue to come to your place of business. I enjoyed my time speaking with Vanessa and have learned a lot of lessons that I can use in my own life.
